Role Overview
The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Espeut Consulting Inc. (ECI) is a unique hybrid of a senior software engineer, a product strategist, and a transformation consultant. You will be embedded with strategic clients to lead the “last-mile” transformation of their Customer Success processes.
Your goal is two-fold: deliver immediate process improvements through custom technical solutions and use those field-tested patterns to build and harden our market-facing CS platform.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Development via Delivery: Architect and ship production-quality features that solve specific client transformation needs, then generalize these solutions into reusable “primitives.”
- CS Process Transformation: Map complex, manual customer success workflows and re-engineer them into automated, high-scale systems.
- End-to-End Implementation: Own the full technical lifecycle—from initial discovery and workflow scoping to system design, coding, and production deployment.
- Strategic Feedback Loop: Act as the primary conduit between the field and the internal R&D team, translating client friction points into product requirements.
- Technical Advisory: Serve as a “personal tech guru” for client CS leadership, guiding them on how AI and automation can change their operating model.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Engineering Depth: Proficiency in modern full-stack development with solid AI/LLM experience (Cursor, Claude, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, LangChain, etc.). Familiarity with SQL, ETL, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Product Sense: Experience building SaaS products. A “founder-like” ability to distinguish between a one-off “hack” and a scalable core feature.
- Transformation Mindset: Experience in business process re-engineering, ideally within Customer Success or Revenue Operations.
- Communication: Effective communication with senior leaders and near-real-time collaboration with ECI team members.
- Ambiguity Management: Comfort working in “messy” real-world environments where data is siloed and requirements shift.
Key Success Metrics
- Product Generalization: Integration of client-specific solutions into the core market-facing product.
- Operational Efficiency Gain: Quantifiable improvement in client CS metrics (e.g., reduction in onboarding time).
- Production Stability: Successful rollout and “hardening” of prototypes into stable, 24/7 production systems.
TBM Managed Services Consultant

We’re looking for innovative and creative professionals who thrive at solving complex problems that accelerate business outcomes.
As a TBM Managed Services Consultant at ECI, you maintain and evolve your clients TBM implementations. You ensure the data, models, and reports align with your clients desired outcomes. This is a remote role.
You will:
Operate month end close for TBM models, including loads, reconciliations, and validations in accordance with SLAs and SLOsMaintain TBM taxonomy, service catalogs, allocations, and cost drivers.
Monitor TBM data, model, and reports and ensure they are accurate.
Maintain client runbooks.
Report TBM service health, risks, and savings opportunities with simple narratives.
Create and monitor support tickets for ApptioOne and related TBM tools.
Primary Responsibilities
Stakeholder Alignment
Meet regularly with client contact to align on short, medium, and long term objectives for their TBM program
Present results back to client stakeholders for validation of success
Communicate shifts in client objectives to ECI TBM lead
Data, Model, and Report Maintenance
Ensure data feeds are timely, accurate, and in-line with operational calendar
Adjust mappings and allocations as needed based on client directives
Add/enhance modeling capabilities as client outcomes shift
Operational Excellence
Maintain client runbooks
Maintain and adhere to operational calendar and month end close process
Create and monitor application support tickets as needed
Culture & Talent Champion
Model rigor, calm communication, and follow through.
Contribute to Espeut Consulting IP and templates.
Share themes across client stakeholders and the Espeut team.
Support a collaborative, feedback rich culture.
Qualifications
Must have:
3+ years in TBM operations/managed services, IT finance, FP&A, cost accounting.
Hands on ApptioOne or equivalent TBM platform experience.
Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
Knowledge of GL structures, allocations, depreciation, and showback/chargeback.
Clear writing for runbooks, tickets, and executive updates.
Stakeholder facilitation with finance, IT, and product teams.
Nice to have:
Experience with Cloudability or VMware CloudHealth
ServiceNow and CMDB data model knowledge.
Power BI or Tableau dashboard development.
ETL tools or basic SQL for data pipelines.
TBM Council or Apptio certifications preferred.
Experience with enterprise or public sector accounts.
Work model
This is a remote role. Some light travel to clients is expected.

As a TBM Advisor on the Consulting Team at Espeut Consulting, Inc. (ECI), you will provide change management and adoption best practices to ensure client success This is a remote role.
You will:
Assess the maturity of the clients TBM Program and provide recommendationsCoach the TBM lead and sponsor(s) on how to communicate the value of TBM within the organization
Create and deliver content to enable stakeholders on how to get the most value from their TBM program
Primary Responsibilities:
Maturity Assessment
Conduct maturity assessments on the TBM program
Provide a readout and recommendations to improve adoption and strategic decision making
Stakeholder Alignment
Initial value workshop to gain alignment on goals – including key metrics/KPIs and other measures of success
Monthly/quarterly check-ins with the executive sponsor to ensure the program is evolving along with their priorities
Weekly check-ins with the TBM lead to advance the deliverables for adoption and success
Executive Workshops
Prioritization and planning activities with Finance, Technology, and other stakeholders within the Subscriber’s organization
Present findings, completed work, gaps, and/or opportunities to the Subscriber
Program Strategy
Align program with organizational KPIs and cross-functional initiatives
Advise on impacts of emerging technologies and M&A activities
Program Governance
Develop TBM program operating models
Advise/participate in client steering committees
In conjunction with stakeholders, co-develop/refine the vision, mission statement, and roadmap(s) for the TBM Office
Co-develop/refine end-user training materials and communication plans
Culture & Talent Champion
Model clarity, rigor, and a learner first mindset.

Qualifications
Must have
5-7+ years in IT finance, FP&A, or TBM related work.
Prior experience with facilitating change management across multiple departments
Excellent writing, presentation, and stakeholder facilitation skills.
Ability to communicate at a tactical and strategic level
Nice to have
Hands-on experience with ApptioOne
Management Consulting experience
Experience running a TBM program
Prior Advisory level experience
TBM Council Certification(s)
ServiceNow and CMDB familiarity and knowledge of GL structures.
Experience with enterprise or public sector accounts.
